Hall County hosts National Wheelchair Soccer Tournament this weekend

Hall County hosts National Wheelchair Soccer Tournament this weekend

Hall County --  The Mulberry Creek Community Center and the North Georgia Screamin’ Eagles will host the U.S. Power Soccer Association Presidents Conference Cup for power wheelchair soccer on June 24-25. Teams participating in the tournament include participants from California, Indiana, Illinois and Alabama. 

This is the first time Hall County Parks and Leisure has hosted a national power soccer competition. Admission is free. Games start Friday morning and will be played all day Saturday (see attached schedule). Mulberry Creek Community Center is located at 4491 JM Turk Road (off Martin Road) in Flowery Branch.

ATLANTA -- For this week's edition of Best Spots, we have compiled a list of best places to run for beginners, intermediate and advanced runners.

Recently, running has risen in popularity due to people discovering the different benefits it offers. Running has been proven to lessen stress, aid in weight loss and can serve as a method of meditation. According to the Seattle Times, 26.5 million people in the US run 50 days out of the year.

  • Beginners Routes

The Silver Comet Trail is known as “the only truly flat place you can run in Atlanta”. The trail starts near Mavell Road in Smyrna and runs all the way to the Georgia/Alabama line, near Cedartown and Esom. The trail is a favorite among runners searching for a leisurely stroll and good scenery.
