Community Foods - $1.79/lb Chicken On Sale Now

Community Foods - $1.79/lb Chicken On Sale Now
Have you heard of Community Foods?

Last month I placed my first order through Community Foods.  It’s actually based in Cumming, GA but they offer deliveries throughout Metro Atlanta.  The overall concept is that they sell 3 products – Chicken (hormone free, no steroids, etc.), Ground Beef (all natural, no hormones, etc.) and Tilapia.  Now my ideal Tilapia would be wild-caught, this tilapia is farm-raised.  But it’s really “pretty” (ha!  that always sounds so funny to say about food).

Right, now chicken just became available for delivery.  Click here to learn more about Community Foods and their $1.79/lb chicken.

Sunday sales may begin this weekend

Sunday sales may begin this weekend

HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- Businesses in Hall County may begin selling alcohol on Sundays this weekend.

Voters approved Sunday package and liquor-by-the-drink sales in the March 6 election. It took nearly two months for sales to begin because county codes needed to be changed before the new law took effect.

The new codes will allow Sunday alcohol sales from 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

"These changes will make Hall County more business-friendly and enable our seasonal businesses on Lake Lanier to be even more successful," Hall County Chairman Tom Oliver said in a statement.

Man wins Cadillac from Ga. Lottery

Man wins Cadillac from Ga. Lottery

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A Gainesville resident has satisfied his need for speed, thanks to a spectacular prize from the Georgia Lottery.

Hans Deneergaard won a brand new Cadillac CTS coupe by playing the instant game Cadillac Riches.

"I just purchased the ticket on a whim," said the 54-year-old business analyst. "I stopped and decided to purchase two tickets, and they both turned out to be winners."

Deneergaard bought his lucky tickets at Harmony Church Chevron in Dawsonville. The other ticket -- the one that didn't win him a car -- netted him $10.

"I was stunned. I showed it to the clerk to verify, and he said, 'Yeah, you won a Cadillac!'" Deneergaard said. "I went online and did some research and started drooling."

Georgia Lottery representatives presented Deneergaard with the keys to his new ride Wednesday at Heritage Cadillac in Morrow.

Mega Millions 'springs forward' to $171M

ATLANTA -- Mega Millions sprang forward with your clocks this weekend.

Tuesday's jackpot has jumped to an estimated $171 million, the Georgia Lottery announced Monday.

Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options -- approximately $6.5 million a year for 26 years with the annuity choice, or a single payment worth approximately $124 million.

Tickets are only $1 per play. Players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.

Who knows -- maybe you could be the next Marcia Adams, the College Park accountant who won $72 million in a January Mega Millions drawing.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions benefit education in the state.
