North Forsyth High DECA Taking a Stand Against Texting While Driving
Atlanta, GA-- North Forsyth High School DECA in Cumming is taking a stand against texting while driving.
DECA is an association of marketing students that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools around the globe. The North Forsyth chapter is currently the third largest in the state of Georgia out of about sixty and are active in the community with causes such as autism, breast cancer, and the humane society.
This year, DECA has chosen to promote awareness against texting while
driving. Representing the campaign are juniors Paige Tanaka and Madeline
Portscher. The chapter has organized events such as a t-shirt day with
statistics written on the shirts. November 15-19, they conducted a Pledge
Week to encourage the students to not text while drive.
