Marlow's Tavern Comes To Cumming July 19

Marlow’s Tavern, the neighborhood restaurant known for serving fresh tavern fare in a fun setting, is opening its eighth location on Tuesday, July 19, on Peachtree Parkway in The Avenue ® Forsyth.  The new restaurant will give Cumming residents a great spot to gather with friends and family for a delicious meal or cocktail made with high-quality ingredients.

Marlow’s Tavern evokes a sense of community not only through its partnerships with non-profit organizations like Special Olympics Georgia and the Atlanta Community Food Bank, but by providing a go-to neighborhood gathering spot for all area residents to enjoy.  The new Cumming location seats up to 170 and was specifically designed with guests’ comfort in mind.  The restaurant’s warm and inviting atmosphere features exposed brick walls, dark wood accents, large leather booths and communal tables.

The Marlow’s Tavern menu, created by Executive Chef and Co-Owner John C. Metz Jr., is broken down into the following convenient components: Start, Snack, Share; Crisp, Cool Salads; Tavern Favorites; Classic Tavern Burgers; Big Bar Sandwiches; Kid’s Fun Foods; and Sweet Stuff.  The fresh selection is filled with delicious plates that change seasonally depending on the availability of fresh ingredients.  From newly added items like the Mongolian “BBQ Style” Steak and Ahi Tuna Poke to Marlow’s classic offerings like the shrimp and crab nacho plate and the grilled chicken Panini (made with Prestige Farms chicken), the neighborhood tavern gives guests delicious menu options with a Marlow’s Tavern twist.

Marlow’s beverage program provides guests with a wide variety of wines from around the world, hand crafted cocktails and simple, but varied list of beers.  The restaurant’s vast wine list includes traditional and boutique wines in both red and white selections by the glass and by the bottle at various price points.  The creative cocktail list consists of several handcrafted concoctions made with the freshest fruit juices, herbs, simple syrups and small batch liquors.  The restaurant also offers a wide variety of bottled beers including local favorites such as Sweetwater 420 and Terrapin Rye Pale Ale.

Marlow’s Tavern has an all-star team of restaurant talent behind its concept.  John Metz earned his degree at the Culinary Institute of America and began his long-standing career at some of the finest restaurants in New York such as The 21 Club, Tribeca Grill and Montrachet.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Restaurant Association and is also the immediate past chairman for Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA).  Designer and Co-Founder Tom DiGiorgio is both a powerhouse in the development of commercial and residential real estate projects as well as an influential member of the Georgia restaurant scene.  Partner and Co-Founder Richard E. Rivera is president of Rubicon Enterprises LLC, a restaurant development company based in Sarasota, Florida, and has more than 30 years of experience in the industry.  He is chairman of the National Restaurant Association and has received numerous industry awards including the Silver Plate award from the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association.  Market Partner Hank Clark is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of Marlow’s Tavern and has partnered with Metz since 2001 after working for Darden Restaurants and Brinker International.  General Manager Brian Longacre spent three years as the general manager at Aqua blue Restaurant & Bar before taking the position at Marlow’s, and coaches his employees with a “hospitality first” mentality to consistently give guests top-notch service.
