ADOPT A PET: Meet Sport

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a companion for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

According to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, Sport is a 2-month-old Boxer mix who is pure puppy through and through....he ...is gangly, a little rambunctious, and very loving. Sport likes new people and will root around to get as close to you as he can....he is very content as long as you are petting him. He has soulful eyes, unique markings (including white "sock" feet and a white tip to his long tail) and a fun personality. Come meet Sport soon...we think he will be a big boy, but will be a loyal companion, as well.

Adoption fee for Sport is $100 and covers her spay surgery, up-to-date vaccinations and micro chipping. For more information, visit the website at www.hsnega.org or call the shelter at 770-532-6617, Mon.-Sat. 10-5 and Sun. 1-5. The Humane Society is located at 845 West Ridge Road in Gainesville.
