GAINESVILLE, Ga. – A New Hampshire man is sitting at the Hall County Jail after police say he deliberately rammed his car into a jewelry store during a suspected burglary.

It happened around 1 a.m. Monday morning at Dimo’s Fine Jewelry on Brown’s Bridge Road.

According to police, a witness saw a silver car drive into the business’s store front, shattering the glass front door and bending a metal security door. Police say a single suspect was able to get inside the store and grab numerous items before driving off.

Officers were able to catch up with suspect’s vehicle in the area of Brown’s Bridge Road at Skeleton Drive. They attempted to pull the suspect over, but authorities say the car crashed.

Police took Jack T. Hogan into custody after the incident and have charged him with First Degree Burglary, Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Maintain Lane.
