Gainesville Police looking for dangerous felon

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (WXIA) – Police in Gainesville are looking for a 27-year-old murder suspect they said was involved in a drug-related robbery that turned deadly in early June.

Police said on June 5, Rodnie Maurice Stokes was involved in a robbery that resulted in the shooting death of Cedric Huff on West Avenue in Gainesville. Investigators said Stokes has active warrants for felony murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Stokes goes by the nickname "Rebel" and is thought by investigators to be in metro Atlanta. They said he has ties to the Norcross/Gwinnett County area.

Authorities said Stokes is to be considered armed and dangerous. They said Stokes is aware that law enforcement is actively looking for him. Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities.
