GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Gainesville's own Allen Creek Soccer Complex is preparing to play host to the Southeast's largest youth soccer tournament for the 10th year in a row.

The Publix Atlanta Cup soccer tournament will feature 54 teams playing 91 games this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3 and 4.

Allen Creek is one of 20 venues throughout Metro Atlanta that will participate in the tournament. More than 750 players and 1,500 spectators from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee will attend the Gainesville games.

The Lake Lanier Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates that the tournament will generate at least $58,000 for local businesses and $4,000 in sales taxes for each night spent in Hall County.

Allen Creek is jointly owned and managed by the city of Gainesville and Hall County governments. It is located at 2400 Allen Creek Road.
