Suspect breaks into dance during burglary

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Hall County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who burglarized a gas station and they're hoping you might be able to help them identify him.

You might recognize him by looks, or you might recognize him by his moves.

The burglar forced his way into the Shell gas station on Al Mangum Road in Hall County at about 2 a.m. on May 26, when store was closed. Once inside he rifled through cupboards and drawers looking for things to steal. Eventually he used some sort of tool and struggled mightily to pry open two cash registers.

Investigators said he got a very minimal amount of money. So you have to wonder why he did what he did. On surveillance video from the store, the suspect appeared to be dancing.

CLAYTON, Ga. -- The Rabun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the possibility that a wheelchair-bound woman was assaulted.

The victim, 21-year-old Ashley Hamilton, suffered extensive injuries to her head and face. Police found her at Raco's Sports Bar in Clayton on Apr. 3.

Rabun County Sheriff Frank Andrews said investigators think Hamilton was left in the care of family friends while her mother went out of town. The victim suffers from disabilities, including autism, and must use a wheelchair.

Andrews said Hamilton may have sustained her injuries on Apr. 2. Her face was bruised, bloody and swollen, and she also suffered several broken bones.

A home health professional said she told the victim's mother, Kelly Hamilton, to take the young woman to the hospital, but Ashley Hamilton did not receive medical attention until police and EMS found her at the sports bar. She is now being treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. He then sold the materials and pocketed the money. The discrepancies in the paperwork were discovered during an internal audit.

Loggins worked as an electrician for Hall County Schools for 31 years and retired last month, Wilbanks said.

He was charged with felony theft by conversion and is currently free on $5,000 bond.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A DeKalb County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for attempting to defraud the bank where he used to work.

William "Rusty" Beamon Jr., 52, will be arraigned Monday in Gainesville.

According to information presented in court, Beamon was vice president of Ellijay-based Appalachian Community Bank, which failed in 2010.

In 2009, Beamon told a real estate agent that he owned and wanted to rent out a house in Cumming, although the house was actually owned by Appalachian Comunity Bank. When the agent negotiated a lease for the house on his behalf, Beamon took more than $20,000 from a renter and deposited it into his personal bank account.

He also allowed the bank to make loans to his wife and a shell company he owned, and finance fraudulent real estate purchases of properties in the bank's foreclosure inventory, according to U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates.

Truelove's body was found Aug. 24 near the Lake Lanier Club Apartments in Gainesville, where she lived with Harris.  Investigators say she had been stabbed multiple times, likely betrayed by someone she knew and followed willingly into the woods.
