Hall County Fire warns of possible scam | Crime
HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- Hall County residents are asked to be wary of a person pretending to collect money for the county's fire department.
The scammer has called or visited a number of homes and businesses, asking for donations to Hall County Fire Services. Whenever residents question the collection, the scammer becomes rude and aggressive, according to Hall County Interim Deputy Fire Chief Chad Black.
Black added that the fire department only solicits funds during its annual Boot Drive for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
"We are disturbed that someone would misrepresent us in this way, and we urge all citizens to be wary of this person or persons," Black said in a statement.
Anyone who may have been visited by the possible scammer is urged to call the Hall County Sheriff's Office at 770-536-8812.
