Animal shelter to serve Thanksgiving dinner to pets | Community Spirit
HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- People aren't the only ones who will enjoy Thanksgiving dinner this week.
The Hall County Animal Shelter will serve a special meal to its pets. The animals will eat chicken and rice on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
"(The pets) usually only get dry kibble, and we thought they'd really enjoy something special," shelter volunteer coordinator Susan Allen said.
Members of the community are invited to help too.
"If you can donate $5 or if you can cook up a pot of chicken and rice yourself and deliver it to the shelter, we can make this happen," shelter program coordinator Cindy Langman said.
The Hall County Animal Shelter is located at 1688 Barber Road in Gainesville.
